DIAA Scholarship Winner, 2011

 

The Deer Isle Artists Association awarded a college scholarship to Deer Isle Stonington High School graduating senior Havilah Mari Hawkins on Sunday, June 6, 2010 "in recognition of her artistic abilities and support of her future academic pursuits."  Mari Hawkins plans to use this award at the Pacific Northwest College of Art and Design in Portland, Oregon. Two of Mari's mixed-media paintings from her "A Year in Ghana" series were featured in the DIAA's grand opening exhibit, Looking Back, Looking Forward.
